Solvent flattening: real and reciprocal space
Subtract mean solvent density from whole map
- only changes F000 in reciprocal space
Multiply by mask: M = 0 for solvent, 1 for protein
Each new F is G-weighted sum (convolution) of its neighbours
- “G-function” is (complex) Fourier transform of mask
